About Blue Rays Technologies
Blue Rays Technologies publishes research-based reviews and buying guides for everyday products — home and kitchen gear, tech, tools, outdoor equipment and more. Our job is to do the reading for you: the specifications, the fine print and the owner complaints, so you can make a decision in minutes instead of opening forty tabs.
What we publish
- Buying guides — long-form comparisons that put the top picks for a specific need side by side, explain the trade-offs and cite official sources where rules or standards matter.
- Product reviews — one product per page, with its key specifications, strengths, limitations, who should and shouldn’t buy it, and a score out of 10.
How we review
Our reviews are research-based. We do not physically test the products we cover. Instead, for every product we:
- read the manufacturer’s specifications and the live retailer listing, and check the numbers against each other;
- read owner reviews — the negative ones as well as the positive ones — to find what breaks, what annoys and what holds up;
- check claims about standards and certifications against the standard itself where we can;
- score the product out of 10 on the same four things every time: build quality, everyday usability, value for money and long-term reliability.
Anything at 8.5 or above is a product we’d recommend without hesitation. Below 7.5, the review tells you what we’d buy instead. More on how we score.
What we don’t do
- We don’t accept payment for reviews, rankings or scores.
- We don’t claim to have tested products we haven’t tested.
- We don’t sell products ourselves — every purchase happens on the retailer’s site.
How we make money
When you buy through a link on our site we may earn a commission from the retailer, at no extra cost to you. We may also show advertising. Neither affects which products we include or how they score. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.
