This Privacy Policy explains what information Blue Rays Technologies (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit blueraystechnologies.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. The site is operated by Blue Ray’s Technologies LLC.

Who we are

Blue Rays Technologies publishes research-based product reviews and buying guides. We do not sell products ourselves: when you choose to buy, you do so on the retailer’s website (usually Amazon), under that retailer’s own terms and privacy policy.

Information we collect

Information you give us

If you email us or leave a comment, we receive the information you choose to send — for example your name, email address and the content of your message. When you comment, we also collect your IP address and browser user-agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymised string created from your email address (a “hash”) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our servers and the tools listed below record technical information when you visit: pages viewed, the page that referred you, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, and the date and time of your visit.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with service providers that help us run the site (such as our hosting provider, Google for analytics and advertising, and Gravatar for comments), when the law requires it, or to protect our rights. Some US state laws treat the use of advertising cookies as “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising; you can opt out of this using the Ads Settings and opt-out links above, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.

How long we keep information

Comments and their metadata are kept for as long as the comment is published. Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of our Google Analytics property.

Your rights
